One of the definitions of Employee relations as below.

Employee relations, known historically as industrial relations, is concerned with the contractual, emotional, physical and practical relationship between employer and employee. (HRZone, 2019)

This refers to the relationship between manager and employees and its characteristics can be listed as appreciation, mutual respect, and trust, or fear and lack of transparency.
A company naturally initiate this by its HR department where manage relationship between employers as n the employees. It will

A respectable employees relation programs certify that all coworkers are treated fairly on time, and it helps to boost the relationships between employees and superiors, and supports to resolve the problem between them.

Importance of Employee Relations









By having good employee relations is vital to any company, that both parties can share a positive relationship, productivity, motivation, employee engagement, and morale.

If employee and managers binding is very close, then employees feel cheerful to get into work in the morning while being better happy hardworking coworkers, produce a better outcome from the work whereas the final goal of customer care will be driven in a happy environment.

Use of basic methods on Employee Relations
To maintain positive employee relations; Mangers used the following methods

11.    Open Communication
In every organizational relationship, communication is the main key item and employees spend most of the time of a day at the workplace and if they feel comfortable with their superiors only they would fulfill their targets.

Co workers team should aware that the manager is always with them for anything on their work and should be more transparent at all times.

Simple weekly survey type, while collecting anonymous feedback from the employees can managers alive on current work variations.

2.    Show Recognition
Humble actions of thanks and caring words to employees will go far than you might think.

Also, rewarding the team will encourage to enhance the successful bond between managers and the employees where they will work hardback to their own managers and to make the company a success.

3.    Constant Feedback
Express constant comments and feedback on their good work and their weak points in a constructive manner will nourish employees to built and maintain a positive relationship with the managers.

With the feedback they receive will lead to learn and improve on their day to day duties while receiving tips and guidance on monthly review meetings or gatherings.  
4.    Invest In Your Employees


Showing cares on employees as humans, but not like 9-5 workers will be an important point while Conveying that the team is very much valuable to the manager in the professional and personal level. With these statements, coworkers will make respect their level managers and involved in their duties at all times.

The reality is that if the employee is happy in their personal life and they will be in high productive at the workplace too. By making them invested in their homes; and it will beneficial for anyone and the company too.

Ways that can show; that you care
  • Offering gym membership while they can achieve healthily and feel good.
  • Allow them to join with projects that they are interested in.
  • Offer development provisions to initiate professional qualifications.
  • Allow volunteering paid time off duties

  5. Employee relations are primarily about how management and staff function together and what can be done to make that work. This can be basically argued with two view points Unitary view is management and employees share the same concerns and it is therefore in both their interests to corporate (Walton, 1985) & the pluralist view is where interests of employees will not necessarily coincide their employers. Good article about the use of methods to develop employee relations.
